Liberating Stories of Women

There is freedom in storytelling!

"I enjoyed all of Liberating Stories of Women and wish there will be more.

"I learnt that domestic abuse is not a private family matter but meanwhile it is a crime against humanity."

Our pilot launch of Liberating Stories of Women (LSW) was conducted over two immersive and intensive phases in November/December 2020. Fifteen (15) young women from Jamestown, Chorkor and Nima learned about story development, filmmaking and social media while discussing issues of domestic abuse and the exploitation of girls and women. This pioneer group generously shared their stories and taught us much about their daily lives, and through the docustories they created, will advocate for the protection of women’s rights and security across diverse populations.

The docustories were first presented in the young women's communities. Their families and neighbors celebrated their works.  In March 2021, we will screen their docustories for the wider public. Check back for more details and in the meantime check out this trailer!
